What should you look for when buying tires?
It all depends on what you want to do but in general the following elements will help you make a decision that fits your goals and how you ride.

Weight
Lighter tires can help your bike feel more responsive and help you get up to speed faster. Typically commuter tires will be a heavier but more durable. Our Recon tire weighs just 220g which is light enough to make it a good racing/fast training tire.

Thread Count
Sometimes youíll see the TPI or Threads per inch being tossed around. This refers to the threads that make up fabric that is the casing of the tire. In general, more threads per inch create a more supple tire that provides a better overall riding experience. Youíll really notice the difference between a 60 TPI tire vs. a 115 TPI tire which is what the Recon provides.

Belt Protection
To improve puncture resistance, tires often have a belt that provides additional protection. Sometimes belts are just in the middle or tread part of the tire. Sometimes the belts extend to the beads of the tires. The Recon offers bead-to-bead protection to give you the best balance of protection and durability.
